The following 100% crops show the Nikon Z 26mm f2.8 from f2.8 down to f8 compared to the Nikon Z 28mm f2.8, Z 24mm f1.8 S and Z 24-50mm f4-6.3. To eliminate focus shift I re-focussed for each crop when stopping the lens down (up to f5.6). Nikon Z 26mm f2.8 compared; 100% crop from center, APS-C/DX-corner, FF/FX-corner
Recommendations. The Nikon Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S is a bigger, heavier, faster version of last year's 24-70mm f/4 S for Nikon's new full-frame mirrorless cameras. This new Z lens has an electronic diaphragm for quiet operation for shooting video.
The Nikon Z 24mm f/1.8 S has a 72mm filter size, which is the same size as on the Nikon 24mm f/1.8G ED. The front element is not recessed deep inside, making it relatively easy to clean and maintain. Size-wise, the Nikon Z 24mm f/1.8 S is noticeably longer than both the 24mm f/1.4G and the 24mm f/1.8G. It is even longer than the Sigma 24mm f/1. Nikon currently offers two 24-70mm lenses for its Z-series mirrorless cameras, the Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S and the smaller and more affordable Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/4 S.The Nikkor Z 24-120mm f/4 S is the more direct competitor to the 24-70mm f/4, offering the same maximum aperture but with an extra 50mm of telephoto range so it’s that bit more versatile. The Nikon Z lens is so far ahead that it’s almost comical, particularly at f/2.8 and f/4. The amazing thing about this comparison is that the F-mount 14-24mm f/2.8, by most measures, is an impressively sharp lens. Even a few years ago, its sharpness was considered state-of-the-art for a 14mm zoom. Yet the Z-mount lens is so much sharper.
